A picture can tell a thousand words or it can speak just one.
It can evoke emotion, conjure memories, transport you to a distant location, or make you feel a certain way. So is the power of an image!
I am Vivienne Haldane and photography is my mild obsession. I see the world around me as a collection of images waiting to be captured. I can’t go somewhere without framing up a photograph in my mind. After all, that is where a photo is first taken!
Lucky for me, I get to live my passion every day by capturing the most amazing images and writing the words to accompany them.
My professional photographic career began in Auckland when I studied at Unitec (though I had been capturing images well before that!)
After years of working in the Auckland photographic industry, I relocated to the beautiful Hawkes Bay. Since moving, the urge to build my own business had been resurging in my mind again and again.
It was time to answer the call...Vivienne Haldane Photography was born.
Photographing beautiful images has always been an integral part of my career. I have photographed media images, families, weddings, products, scenery and this gorgeous country we call home.
I relish every assignment that I get to be part of. But sometimes, it is necessary to wander and observe without any assignment in mind.
This wandering is what has led me to my passion for creating fine art prints. Having a series of my photos included in two national exhibitions - one at Te Papa, Wellington and the other at the Auckland Art Gallery - has inspired to create more art.
I feel like a bold and creative explorer, taking the world around me and translating it into stunning pieces for people’s homes and workplaces.
My big hobby away from work is music - I sing with a guitarist/singer, my friend, Morley Davis and we call ourselves 'Harmony'. We're often seen at a local open mic night. Our fave gig, however, is entertaining the golden oldies at a rest home.Make Enquiry
